Engagement

From payment problem to working architecture.

INFTF contributes architecture, prototypes and technical support for blockchain integrations, and connects the institutions needed to make a payment flow work. Our contribution is pro bono: there are no fees. The business parties own and operate the resulting service.

Start with the benefit to the user.

A project fits INFTF when it can improve access to financial services or make a payment work better for the person using it, and blockchain can help solve the problem. We assess the technology against that practical benefit. Our focus is useful financial infrastructure.

The wider mission of the Inclusive Financial Technology Foundation is at inftf.org.

The participating business parties manage currency issuance, compliance checks and production operations. INFTF supports their architecture and blockchain integrations.

From assessment to implementation.

  1. Assess
  2. Architect
  3. Connect
  4. Prototype
  5. Support integration
Assess → Architect → Connect → Prototype → Support integration

Our contribution can span the work below, depending on the project. Begin with the current flow, the people it serves and the constraint to address. The scope follows the problem and the capabilities of the participating institutions.

Assess

What your team brings

  • the existing flow and the people it serves
  • the funding, settlement or payout constraint
  • currencies, jurisdictions and participating institutions

INFTF contribution

  • a map of the current payment flow
  • the constraint and intended benefit to the user
  • a view on whether blockchain could help
  • questions to resolve before further design

Architect

What your team brings

  • the flow, its constraints and the intended user benefit

INFTF contribution

  • target flow
  • institutional roles
  • asset and issuer requirements for the parties to assess
  • ledger recommendation
  • custody / key architecture
  • liquidity model
  • technical control design
  • reconciliation model
  • fallback paths

Connect the parties

What your team brings

  • the proposed architecture and required institutional roles
  • existing relationships and gaps in the participant group

INFTF contribution

  • connections between relevant institutions and technical teams
  • coordination on roles and integration dependencies
  • questions for the business parties and their advisers to resolve

Prototype

What your team brings

  • the proposed flow and technical questions to test
  • the participating teams and their integration requirements

INFTF contribution

  • prototypes of the blockchain components
  • technical findings to inform the production design
  • support for exploring transaction and failure behaviour

Support integration

What your team brings

  • prototype findings and the agreed architecture
  • the business parties’ production code and integration requirements

INFTF contribution

  • technical support for blockchain-specific integrations in production code
  • coordination with the teams implementing and operating the service

Start with the problem.

Tell us about the flow and what needs to improve. You can start before you have selected an asset, a ledger or the other participants.
